Certaldo this location
we highly recommend for those wanting something really different
and very special,
|
|
| The Bride arrives by
car up the winding roads where the guests await having travelled
up by the funicular railway. The local Mayor or his representative
performs the ceremony in an outdoor courtyard of this medieval
hall. Then after a quick toast in bubbly and while your guests
partake of refreshments at a local bar the photographer records
the event. Then Bride and groom lead the guests down the ancient
cobbled street and it is as if the town is theirs. Welcomed
into a fabulous family run restaurant overlooking the valley,
aperitifs are served before all feast themselves on the multi
course wedding meal while tasting the local wines PERFECTION. |

Couples travelling from overseas can have a
beautiful civil ceremony here. Civil weddings are celebrated
in the Palazzo Pretorio The facade, the entrance-hall and
the courtyard of the Pretorio Palace have got the signs of
all the Vicars, and the beautiful armorial bearings of glazed
earthenware mode by bottega dei Della RobbiaI. Weddings are
performed by the Mayor of Town or Civil registrar. You can
add personal vows, readings and poems to the ceremony

In the province of Florence,
immersed in the heart of the Chianti hills, rises Certaldo Alto,
a small but fascinating medieval town, home of Giovanni Boccaccio.
Here we find the Osteria del Vicario, a restaurant with lodgings
contained within an antique monastery dating back (to the 13th century),
which has for more 50 years offered its guest, restoration and harmony,
in the characteristic dining room with with typical Tuscan cooking
and enchanting tranquility of the few rooms which were once antique
monks' cells.
